This volume features racing at York from the 1950s–1970s. Beginning with footage from 1957, when racing first began at York, then moving along to the early 1960s and some great cars from the mid-Atlantic region. Also in the early 1960s, York hosted some NHRA Regional races that brought racers from all over the country to compete at the Super Strip. There is additional footage from Cecil County Drag-O-Way and New York National Speedway. The closing segment is from 1979, the final year of racing at York. Funny cars, modifieds, stockers – this chapter has it all: both day and night events that featured Larry Fullerton’s Trojan Horse Funny Car up against the Chicago Fire Jet Dragster (super cool!).
